ICYMI: Property Liberation Guidelines, Black Economics Salon 6 Month Report, and more!

It's been another exciting month and we have so much to report back to you.

Community Owner Work Party!

Reporting Back on SIX MONTHS of our Black Economics Salon

We first gathered on April 26, 2019 with the purpose of creating the pathways for black cooperatives in the new West Oakland BART Station development, currently stewarded by SUDA, China Harbor, and Hansel Phelps. We've since met on the last Friday of each month doing our best to create this project for our community within the estimate project window of 30 months. Greg drafted this 6 month report to memorialize the work that we've done so far, as we transition to more community engagement around a 7th Street Cultural Cooperative Corridor.

So Many Events: It's Like We're EVERYWHERE

We hosted three phonebanking parties, one pop-up orientation at PLACE, an orientation webinar, our regularly scheduled monthly in-person orientation, a Community Owner Circle, and our #LandWithoutLandlords Coop789 Capital Campaign Launch Happy Hour!

We also attended a bunch of events including the Youth Spirit Artworks’ day of building tiny houses and the Affordable for Whom Convening in New York!

Don't miss out on our future events! Subscribe to our newsletter here.

Two More Badasses Joined Our Team!
