Organization Building & Growing Together
To our Investor and Community Owners, know that the faith and patience you have placed in us is going to a greater cause. We have officially gone into escrow on EB PREC's 2nd community owned property!!! YOU, yes you, Beloved Commuity, now own TWO PROPERTIES. Our ability to demonstrate community solidarity, brought us into relationship with Northern California Land Trust (NCLT) who has helped us secure a 700k low interest loan, truly bringing the cooperative vision into reality.
That is affordable in perpetuity, community-owner-controlled, resident-owner-stewarded land--THAT WE ALL OWN, TOGETHER. <3
We are now moving to the final stage of securing the financing, The Rehab Costs. For this we still need 200 investors. Help us bring the vision home, literally. Become a Investor and /or Community Owner today at EBPREC.org!

Know that EB PREC is working on the internal flow as well. Janelle Orsi @ Sustainable Economies Law Center summarizes in a blog post about the Legal Structures for Social Transformation at play in EB PREC and People Power Solar Cooperative.
"A culmination of best practices, cultural shifts, and innovative structural elements that make these cooperatives microcosms of social transformation and powerful platforms for movement-building and systems change."

Giving Thanks to all the organizers and attendees of the powerful MLK day assembly at Oscar Grant Plaza, including Sogorea Te' Land Trust, one of our inspirations, as a budding land liberation organization.
In this clip is the powerful and meaningful ritual of the melting of guns into the shape of the constellations in the sky the night Oscar Grant was killed. War and power hoarding will destroy us all. At EB PREC we choose to put our energy, our personal stories, and our sweat to personal, organizational, and most important Communal Transformation.

Write up on the EB PREC Blog by Janelle Orsi on the Role of Community Capital at EB PREC and the Role of Coop Securities Laws.

At EB PREC we recognize that the health of our community is dependent on housing stability. Like our newest resident owner, mentioned above, housing insecurity creates a lot of fear and stress. Housing instability effects the health of our community as a whole. Here's a few thoughts from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco on Mental Health and Displacement.
